HERMES MERCURIUS TRISMEGISTUS. From Historia Deorum Fatidicorum.


The origins of Hermes Trismegistus found in both the Greek messenger god Hermes and the Egyptian god of wisdom, Thoth. Religious syncretism in the Hellenic world was rather ordinary, and we were aware of the practice, in particular, from the fusion Zeus-Amun, recollecting the story of Alexander the Great visiting the oracle of the Siwa Oasis and being named the son of the divinity mentioned above.

Here we come to one of the aims of our library: we do not intend to only share research and analysis of old texts, but to share how the process produces information that is valuable to the writer in the practical sense.
