The realm of faith involves the teaching of tenets of belief, practices, behaviors, and historic underpinnings. In some cases, the facts we are taught are evolved cultural myths. We may still believe, but when challenged are hard-pressed to give a reasonable accounting of the basis of our faith. Just saying that „my pastor or priest or the text says so“ does not hold up very well in today’s skeptical arena.

And popularity polling is not the answer to these issues. Just because a majority of people believe one thing/idea/fact does not make that one thing/idea/fact correct.
